Tonight I was revisiting some old photos and came across a shoot I did with my good friend Jose. The story starts back in 2008 when I fell in love with a rock band called “Hey Mercedes” and, in particular, a song of theirs called “It’s Been A Blast”. Not only that, but I had started my photography company just 5 months before and was very excited to start creating powerful portraits. I really wanted to create an image that conveyed my interpretation of the lyrics to my new favorite song. Jose and I headed out to Cypress Point Park in Tampa, just between I-275 and Tampa International. We did some scouting and started experimenting with lighting & poses…

Jose is a phenomenal dancer

We took picture after picture, as we would patiently wait for a plane to fly over in the right area for the shot we wanted.

Finally, after at least 6 plane passes, we got the shot. The plane was in the perfect position. This…is the resulting image! If you’re not already listening to the song or checking out the lyrics…make sure you do so! >> Song >> Lyrics

It started back in February when I was approached by Hugo Aviles, editor of Pulse Magazine and Alfonso Johnson, the founder of MuzikGem.com with the purpose of coming together and creating some images for the March issue of Pulse Magazine that would display their recent partnership. Family Portrait at Madeira Beach

Indiana residents Steve & Laurelle contacted me last month about doing a family portrait during their annual Florida vacation. I was so excited about it…not only because beach shoots are always fun, but because they were my first ever out-of-state clients. Awesome! They brought along their adorable 7-month-old son Westley who was, of course, a blast to take photos of. Check out the images we captured!

If you’ve been living under a rock and still don’t know who Mikayla is, let me give you a quick breakdown Mikayla is a super-talented model, she’s played on the Tampa Breeze (a team in the Lingerie Football League), and she was on the cover of February’s Playboy. She’s been a busy woman! But she’s also a great friend and managed to clear some time in her schedule for a killerrr photo shoot. Enjoy!

Welcome to the wedding of Marlene & David at the beautiful Cross Creek Ranch in Dover, FL! I actually shot this wedding on May 15th, 2010 on behalf of Thompson Studios, so it’s been a long time coming. In an effort to blog more weddings, I will be posting older ones such as this, and of course more recent weddings.
